How long does it take to launch a website?

August 31st

No one wants to hear that depends, but of course it depends! Websites come in all shapes and sizes and some can be up and running in a week or 2 and some can take over a year. Most of our GooseWorks websites take around 10-14 weeks for e-commerce and 8-10 weeks for a portfolio/service type of website.

A lot goes into our process to make sure that your site is successful. We have a proven process that gets great results and it all starts with discovery.

  • Discovery
Where it all starts: through a process of surveys and meetings we’ll gather all the information we need to have the best understanding of your business and goals.
  • Architecture
Great buildings come from great blueprints — the same applies to websites. Together we’ll determine the best way to organize your website and sketch out a rough outline. This is done through a series of site flow maps and wireframes.
  • Content
With a solid blueprint in place it we guide you to collect, organize, edit, and deliver your content for each page of the website. We will be able to help you adjust and edit the copy for the website.
  • Design
At the same time you are working on content our team creates a non- functioning (flat) comprehensive layout showing design direction.
  • Development + Launch
With all the necessary Architecture, Content, and Design elements in-hand we create the first working version of your website.
  • Maintain/Market
Keeping your site fresh is important and there are a lot of components that we can test and tweak on an ongoing basis. We want to make sure that you’re always putting your best foot forward!

The websites we create are never set it and forget it, we want to make sure that you’re keeping up with your industry, your customers and best practices.
